For the past year or more you have always referred to the toilet as the "bye". This stems from your original interest in coming into the bathroom with me, and watching the toilet paper and "such" flush down, and I would say "bye bye" and voila: toilet=the bye.
What's funny to me is that sometimes I wonder how you keep "the bye" and "bye-bye" straight in your head. It's amazing to me.
And still when I have to pee, you run in after me, ask for a square of toilet paper so you can throw it in and watch it swirl away.
I wonder if you ever will be potty-trained because other than watching it swirl, you seem to have no desire. Until last night.
I brought home a new board book called "Potty" by Leslie Patricelli.
You have one of these books called "yes yes, no no" and love the pictures.
So when I saw this one, I was crossing my fingers, and hoping that you would like this one too. And maybe, just maybe it would peak your interest in going potty on "the bye".
It's a small step but you made me read the book 4 times in a row. And although you didn't run right to the bathroom to imitate it, I take it as a hopeful sign that sometime in the near future, you will go on "the bye".
With adoring love,
Your momma,
Heather Jo
